Instead of going back to our hotel we asked if she could drop us off so we could get some lunch, she took us to Lot 10. We enjoyed her stories and our time together. Hoopy was a good guide, she is a keen walker and group tour guide who has travelled a lot. One group of boys lost part of their lunch to the monkeys while the boys were swimming. There are plenty of spots for a picnic here and a few groups of people were enjoying cooling off in the pools. We saw 4 levels of the waterfalls, I think there were 7 in total. The hot springs were very basic and popular with the older locals but not like the resorts in Europe and other parts of the world. There was also another cave which had the story of Rama and his exile, I won't spoil the story. After going back down the stairs she gave us some nasi lemak and a coconut to drink and the flesh to eat. The 272 steps to get to the caves was worth the effort, Hoopy let us set the pace, slow, and showed us around the various altars and shrines/statues. Three stops in Jalan Alor and a few other stops and our new culinary knowledge and Manjeet's advice set us up nicely for our stay.Ī few days later, Hoopy picked us up just before 9am to take us to Batu Caves, waterfalls and hot springs on a 4 hour tour. The tour finished at the Petronas Towers, close to our hotel.Īt 6pm Manjeet met us at our hotel to start a 2 hour local food tour, Lot 10 was the first stop and we liked it so much that we came back a few times in our 6 days in KL. Walking and driving around with Manjeet was relaxed and informative. We visited the National Mosque, Hindu and Buddhist temples, various other ornate buildings, markets, squares and a good stop for a local snack as well. On our first full day in KL we did a 4 hour highlights tour with Manjeet starting at 10am had a great overview of local and national history.
